A provision of Rs 7,456 crore has been made for BMC Health Department. Rs 1,000 crore has been given for BEST. The process of giving QR code based certificates to hawkers will start. Entertainment tax will be applicable from October. A provision of Rs 4 thousand crore was made for Versova Dahisar Coastal Road.
1 thousand 62 crores for Municipal Hospital
Apart from this, a provision of Rs 2,650 crore was made for Goregaon Mulund Link Road and Rs 1,620 crore was made for Municipal Hospital. Advertisement boards larger than 40*40 were banned. A ban has been announced on placing advertisements on footpaths and rooftops. The total outstanding of BMC to the state government is Rs 10948.58 crore.
This time’s budget is 8.77 percent more than the previous one.
The budget of 2026-27 presented on Wednesday (February 25) is 8.77 percent more than that of 2025-26. BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani presented the budget. Rs 48164.28 crore has been earmarked for capital expenditure. This amount is 11.59 percent more than that of 2025-26.

Revenue expenditure proposed Rs 32698.44 crore
The revenue expenditure for the financial year 2026-27 is proposed to be Rs 32698.44 crore, which is about 15.71 percent more than the revised estimate of Rs 28257.91 crore for 2025-26. The estimated revenue income in the budget is estimated at Rs 51510.94 crore, which is 19.35 percent higher on an annual basis. Property tax revenue, one of the major sources of income for BMC, is estimated at Rs 7,000 crore for 2026-27, from Rs 6,200 crore in 2025-26.
