During the promotion of the film, he spoke openly and said that such stories should come to the fore which are often suppressed or which are not discussed much. According to him, the stories which are less heard actually show the mirror to the society.

Konkana believes that such a story is necessary because the society should see things from every angle. This film not only entertains but also forces people to think. This film is going to be released on Netflix on 27th February. ‘Accused’ is the story of a woman who is accused of sexual harassment at her own workplace.
Talking to IANS, Konkana said that the script of the film completely overturns the common thinking. He said that most of the time we see women as victims or survivors but very rarely as accused. Statistics show that it is true that mostly men commit crimes, but women can also do this and it also happens.
The story shows the other side of the coin
Konkana further said that the most special thing about the film is that it brings to the fore those stories which we often ignore. It shows the power game between two women at the workplace, the inequality in their relationship and the huge age difference. The story completely presents the other side of the coin. Here the accused is also a woman and the victim is also a woman. Age difference, job position and complexity of relationships all bring out our own biases.
The story is not black-white but of gray shades.
The actress says that when a woman is accused of exploitation, it is not easy for the society to believe her, especially when the accused is in a powerful position and there is no equality in the relationship. Konkana clearly said that this film forces people to think about how our perspective works. This is not a black and white story but plays in gray shades. No character in it is completely right or completely wrong and this is what makes it more original and real.
