Tejashwi Yadav gave a big statement on Rajya Sabha elections. He said on Thursday (February 26) that we (Grand Alliance) will give our candidate and will win. He said that he will inform the media as soon as it is decided who will be the candidate. The RJD leader claimed that there will be no situation of horse trading among MLAs.
AIMIM has five MLAs
Tejashwi Yadav held a meeting with opposition MLAs from his chamber in the Assembly. IIP President and MLA IP Gupta and AIMIM MLA Akhtarul Iman also attended. Let us tell you that Asaduddin Owaisi’s AIMIM is not a part of the grand alliance in Bihar. During the assembly elections, AIMIM had asked for seats from the Grand Alliance but did not get the seat. AIMIM won five seats in the assembly elections.
Who is retiring from Bihar?
In this meeting there was discussion about common candidate and numerical strength. Rajya Sabha seats are becoming vacant in Bihar. On five seats, the tenure of sitting MPs Premchand Gupta and AD Singh of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Harivansh and Ramnath Thakur of Janata Dal United (JDU) and Upendra Kushwaha of Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) is completing. Elections will be held on 16 March.
NDA can win 4 seats comfortably
Among the five vacant seats, RJD and JDU have two seats each and Rashtriya Lok Morcha has one seat. For one Rajya Sabha seat in Bihar, votes of 41 MLAs are required. Accordingly, NDA will win four seats comfortably.
NDA needs votes of three MLAs for 5th seat
After winning four seats, NDA will have votes left for 38 MLAs. To win the fifth seat, NDA will need three MLAs. If all the 41 MLAs of the opposition come together and decide their candidate and vote for him, then the opposition may get one seat.
