23 people including former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convenor Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister and former Education Minister Manish Sisodia have got a big relief in the excise policy matter. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has acquitted both the leaders and 21 others in this long-running case. Anna Hazare has also expressed happiness on this.
Anna Hazare said, “Our country runs on the strength of its judicial and security systems. Despite being such a large nation with diverse parties, castes, religions and communities, it functions smoothly only because of the judiciary. Without it, anarchy and unrest will spread. Now that the court has given its verdict that Arvind Kejriwal is not guilty, it should be accepted.”

‘If the decision had come earlier, we would not have said all this’
Anna Hazare said, “Whatever I had said earlier about Arvind Kejriwal was not the decision of the judicial system. We were all speaking in the air. If it had been the court’s decision, we would not have said so. Now the court has given its verdict that Arvind Kejriwal had no fault, so we will have to accept.”
‘Let Arvind Kejriwal say whatever he wants’- Anna Hazare
Arvind Kejriwal had claimed that BJP had filed a conspiracy against him and filed false cases. On this, Anna Hazare said, “This is their question. The ruling party and I have no dealings. I have never gone close to the ruling party. Let them say whatever they want.”
Anna Hazare’s advice to Arvind Kejriwal
When Anna Hazare was asked what advice he would give to Arvind Kejriwal, he said, “Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia have been our old workers. The only advice we would give is to keep doing whatever you can for the betterment of the society and the country. Don’t think about yourself, about the party. Only to take the country forward.”
Anna Hazare further said, “There have been huge sacrifices to make our country independent. Lakhs of people have sacrificed. This has to be remembered. Not forgotten.”
