Indian cricketer Rinku Singh’s father, Khanchand Singh, died on 27 February. Rinku shouldered his father’s bier and attended his funeral. Many people were present there during the funeral procession and funeral of Khanchand Singh.
Rinku Singh’s father breathed his last at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida at around 5 am on 27th February. He was suffering from liver cancer for a long time. When Khanchand was admitted in the hospital, there was news of improvement in his health, but on the morning of 27 February, a mountain of sorrow fell on Rinku’s family.

elder brother lit the funeral pyre
Rinku Singh’s father died in Greater Noida, after which his mortal remains were brought to Aligarh. Rinku was present with Team India in Chennai, but as soon as he got the news of his father’s demise, he left for Aligarh. Rinku’s elder brother Sonu Singh cremated the dead body of his father Khanchand Singh.
Earlier, Rinku had reached Noida from Chennai due to deteriorating health of his father, but had rejoined Team India in Chennai the very next day. Meanwhile, Rinku could not play in the Super-8 match against Zimbabwe on 26 February. In that match, India had scored 256 runs, in response to which Zimbabwe team could score only 184 runs.
