Temporary council is taking over the power
According to Iran’s constitution, a temporary council consisting of President Massoud Pejeshkian, judiciary chief and Guardian Council senior cleric Ayatollah Alireza Arafi will temporarily take over the powers given to the supreme leader. Arafi is being considered as the interim leader. However, till now he has not given any speech in public. Iran’s constitution bans political factions that do not accept the Islamic Republic or the institution of the Supreme Leader, leaving no formal opposition that could offer an alternative.
