Former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will appear before the Privilege Committee on March 6 in the ‘hanging house’ case. He has written a letter to the committee on summons informing them about this. Along with this, he has cornered the Rekha Gupta government by expressing concern about the condition of pollution, roads and hospitals in the capital.

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal wrote on social media platform X, “Delhi is struggling with pollution. The roads are broken. There are heaps of garbage everywhere. There are no medicines in hospitals. Delhi Assembly has called me to ask questions on “hanging house”. I have written a letter to the Privileges Committee informing them that as per their summons I will be present on March 6. Keeping transparency in mind, I request the committee to telecast the proceedings live.

What is hanging house?

Actually, in the year 2016, a tunnel was found under the Delhi Assembly building. This was a structure during the British rule, which was constructed in 1912. This is the same year when Delhi was made the capital of the country in place of Calcutta. In the year 2021, the then Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal had talked about finding a gallows in the complex. The entry gate of this structure is just below the assembly building. The then Aam Aadmi Party government later renovated this place and inaugurated it as ‘Fansighar’.
