Anuj Agnihotri, resident of Rawatbhata of Chittorgarh district, has secured first position in the country by securing All India Rank 1 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025. Due to his achievement, there is an atmosphere of happiness not only in the family but in the entire area. Anuj’s success is also considered special because after completing his medical studies, he chose the path of civil services and achieved the top position on the basis of hard work.
Anuj Agnihotri has completed MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur. During his studies, his inclination shifted from medical field towards civil services. After this he completely concentrated on preparing for the Civil Services Examination. Even before this he had passed the UPSC examination and had served in the DANICS cadre.
Mother told son’s strict daily routine
Anuj’s mother Manju Agnihotri expressed happiness over her son’s success and said, “I consider his hard work to be the biggest thing and God’s grace is the biggest thing. Otherwise, whatever every mother does, I also did the same. There is nothing special in it.”
He further said, “His daily routine was such that he would wake up at 6 in the morning, then have breakfast and do all the work as per the fixed time and regular routine. For this reason, I also did not have to go anywhere, because if even a little bit of his time got here and there, he would have faced problems.”
Manju Agnihotri told that Anuj was very disciplined during his studies and did not like any kind of hindrance.
She said, “He had very little interaction with people. Even when we were face to face, we did not talk much. He used to study sitting separately in his room. We were just careful that no one should bother him. That’s why I neither went anywhere nor did anyone come and go at home much.
She further said, “Topping cannot be predicted in advance because there is a lot of uncertainty in this exam. But seeing his hard work, I always felt that he will definitely do something big in the future.”
Achieved first rank in third attempt
Describing his success, Anuj Agnihotri said, “When I was doing my graduation in MBBS, I got inclined towards civil services instead of medical science. That’s when I thought that I have to join civil services. Further, my first attempt was in 2023, in which I got DANICS service. This is my third attempt, so it has been a long journey for me.”
He further said, “I have done MBBS from AIIMS Jodhpur in 2017 batch. When I was doing internship, I took an online course for preparation along with my practice. After that, I continued my preparation while staying at home.”
got strong support from family
Anuj Agnihotri has given a lot of credit for his success to his family. He says that family support is very important during long preparations. He said, “I believe that my family has a huge contribution in this because they always maintained a strong support system. It is a long journey, so naturally a strong support is very important. I want to give full credit to my family for this. My father is an employee in a nuclear power plant and mother is a housewife.”
First rank said to be a combination of luck and hard work
Anuj said that the expectation of first rank in an examination like UPSC cannot be decided in advance. He described it as the result of hard work as well as luck. He said, “No one can be sure about the first rank, because it is an exam which has a lot of subjectivity, so the first rank is also a matter of luck. But any candidate who gives the exam, especially when he reaches the interview, definitely has hope in his mind.”
