Punjab One Thousand Rupees Scheme: From time to time, state governments launch various schemes to make women economically stronger. Their objective is to help women in household expenses and make them more financially independent. In this direction, the Punjab government has also announced a new financial assistance scheme.
In which it has been said that women will be given a fixed amount every month. The government has also fixed a big budget for this scheme. So that more and more women can take advantage of it. The government believes that by providing regular financial assistance, women’s participation in domestic decisions will increase and they will be able to become more self-reliant regarding their needs. But not all women will get the benefit.
Which women will get the benefit of this scheme?
Under this scheme, financial assistance will be given to a large number of women of the state. According to the government, eligible women of general category will be given Rs 1000 every month. Whereas for women belonging to Scheduled Caste category, this amount has been kept higher and they can get help of up to Rs 1500 every month. To avail the benefits of this scheme, women must be at least 18 years of age or older.
The good thing is that women who are already taking benefits of schemes like old age pension, widow pension or disabled pension. She can also be considered eligible for this scheme. However, some women will not be included in it.

Who will not be able to take advantage?
The government has also fixed some eligibility rules in this scheme. Under which women who are government employees or receiving pension. She will not come under the purview of this scheme. Apart from this, income tax paying women and current or former MLAs and MPs will also not be eligible for this scheme. Its purpose is to ensure that assistance reaches only those women who need financial help the most.
What is the application process?
As far as the application is concerned, the registration process will be decided by the government. Generally, women have to register for such schemes, after which eligibility is checked. After verification of documents, the amount is sent directly to the bank account of the selected beneficiaries. In the coming time, the state government may issue complete application process and rules related to this scheme.
