The Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding storm, rain and lightning in many districts of Bihar on Monday. According to the department, the weather may change in the northern and eastern parts of the state from Monday, due to which there may be rain and thunderstorm conditions with strong winds in many areas.
Change in weather was felt in many districts of Bihar since late Sunday night. The sky was covered with dense clouds in many areas including Purnia, Kishanganj and Araria of Seemanchal region. The weather changed in the capital Patna also on Monday morning.
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of this changed weather can be seen in areas from Purnia to Muzaffarpur and Jamui. There are indications of strong wind, thunder and rain in these districts. In view of this, the Meteorological Department has issued ‘Yellow Alert’ for these districts. There is also a possibility of lightning in many areas of North and East Bihar, due to which people have been advised to remain alert.
According to the department, strong winds can blow in many districts, whose speed can reach 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. There is a possibility of rain with strong wind gusts in Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Samastipur, Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Saharsa, Madhepura, Purnia, Katihar, Bhagalpur, Banka, Jamui, Khagaria and Munger districts.

Due to strong wind and thunder, farmers working in the fields and people present in open places have been advised to take special precautions.
At the same time, the weather may remain relatively calm in some districts of Central Bihar. Vaishali, Patna, Jehanabad, Gaya, Nalanda, Nawada, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai and Begusarai will be partly cloudy with light drizzle at isolated places. However, no major alert has been announced for these areas at present.
The Meteorological Department estimates that this changed weather in the state may continue till the night of March 11. During this period, intermittent rain and strong wind can be seen in many districts. After this, the weather is expected to become normal again from March 12.
