The result of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, considered one of the toughest examinations in the country, has been revealed. Prelims exam cut-off

UPSC has also released the cut-off for the first stage of this examination i.e. Prelims. The cut-off of prelims for general category was 92.66 marks. For the economically weaker section i.e. EWS, it was fixed at 89.34 points. The cut-off for Other Backward Classes i.e. OBC was 92 marks, for Scheduled Castes i.e. SC it was 84 marks and for Scheduled Tribes i.e. ST it was 82.66 marks. Apart from this, the cut-off for the candidates of disabled category i.e. PwBD was between 76.66 to 40.66 marks.

The Commission has also made it clear that the cut-off of Prelims is decided only on the basis of marks of GS Paper-1. The second paper i.e. CSAT is only qualifying. To pass in this, candidates are required to score at least 33 percent marks.

Mains exam cut-off

After passing the prelims, candidates have to appear in the mains exam. Only after this the selection for interview takes place. This year the cut-off for the general category to reach the interview in Mains was 739 marks. It was fixed at 706 marks for EWS, 717 marks for OBC, 700 marks for SC and 694 marks for ST.

How many marks are required for final selection?

The final merit list of UPSC is prepared by adding the marks of Mains Exam and Interview. This year the final cut-off for general category was 963 marks. It was fixed at 926 marks for EWS category, 931 marks for OBC, 905 marks for SC and 902 marks for ST category.

How many candidates were selected in total?

UPSC has selected a total of 958 candidates for various services through this examination. These include Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and other central services.
