The result of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, considered one of the toughest examinations in the country, has been revealed. Every year lakhs of youth dream of passing this examination and getting a place in the administrative services of the country. This time, this dream has been first realized by Anuj Agnihotri, who has achieved All India Rank 1 by performing brilliantly.
After the results are declared, the eyes of students and candidates across the country are not only on the toppers but also on the marks on the basis of which different stages of this examination are passed. Along with this, Union Public Service Commission i.e. UPSC has also released the cut-off for all three stages of the examination.
Anuj Agnihotri became country’s number-1
Anuj Agnihotri stood first in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 by scoring a total of 1071 marks. In the mains examination he got 867 marks out of 1750, while in the interview i.e. personality test he got 204 marks out of 275. By combining the marks of both the stages, he reached first position in the entire country.
who is in second and third place
This year Rajeshwari Suve MK has secured second position in the examination. He got a total of 1067 marks. He scored 865 marks in mains and 202 marks in interview. Akanksh remained at the third position. He scored a total of 1057 marks. His marks were 864 in Mains and 193 marks in Interview.
Prelims exam cut-off
UPSC has also released the cut-off for the first stage of this examination i.e. Prelims. The cut-off of prelims for general category was 92.66 marks. For the economically weaker section i.e. EWS, it was fixed at 89.34 points. The cut-off for Other Backward Classes i.e. OBC was 92 marks, for Scheduled Castes i.e. SC it was 84 marks and for Scheduled Tribes i.e. ST it was 82.66 marks. Apart from this, the cut-off for the candidates of disabled category i.e. PwBD was between 76.66 to 40.66 marks.

An important rule in prelims
The Commission has also made it clear that the cut-off of Prelims is decided only on the basis of marks of GS Paper-1. The second paper i.e. CSAT is only qualifying. To pass in this, candidates are required to score at least 33 percent marks.
Mains exam cut-off
After passing the prelims, candidates have to appear in the mains exam. Only after this the selection for interview takes place. This year the cut-off for the general category to reach the interview in Mains was 739 marks. It was fixed at 706 marks for EWS, 717 marks for OBC, 700 marks for SC and 694 marks for ST.
How many marks are required for final selection?
The final merit list of UPSC is prepared by adding the marks of Mains Exam and Interview. This year the final cut-off for general category was 963 marks. It was fixed at 926 marks for EWS category, 931 marks for OBC, 905 marks for SC and 902 marks for ST category.
How many candidates were selected in total?
UPSC has selected a total of 958 candidates for various services through this examination. These include Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and other central services. The result of UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025 was declared on 6 March.
