This time in Ayodhya i.e. Ramnagari of Uttar Pradesh, preparations are being made to celebrate the first day of the Hindu New Year in a grand and spiritual atmosphere. On the eve of New Year, saints and devotees will take out a parikrama of Ramkot. Besides, a call has also been given to hoist religious flags and light lamps across the city.
On the eve of New Year i.e. on the evening of 18th March, saints, sages and a large number of devotees will gather and circumambulate Ramkot. A large number of devotees will participate in this event. Along with Ayodhya, a large number of people are also arriving from outside.
21 years old tradition
According to Dr. Anil Mishra, member of Ram Mandir Trust, this tradition of Ramkot Parikrama is being followed continuously for the last 21 years by the Sant Samaj. On the eve of New Year, all the saints, monks and devotees will first offer prayers at the Matagajendra temple, after which the Ramkot Parikrama will begin from there. During this time, the saints and devotees will pray to Lord Shri Ram for the progress of the country, society and Sanatan Dharma and wish that the new year brings happiness, peace and prosperity in everyone’s life.
A lamp will be lit in every house
On this occasion, Ram Mandir Trust has also appealed to hoist religious flags on the major temples of Ramnagari and light lamps in every house. Also, on the occasion of flag hoisting on the peak of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, a call has been made to hoist the religious flag in all the temples and houses of Ayodhya.
To make this event in Ayodhya grand and successful, the organizers are continuously increasing information and patriotism among the people through meetings and public awareness. Along with this, cooperation has been appealed from the local police administration to ensure that the devotees coming to this event do not face any problem.
