He also said that some development works started during his tenure remained incomplete due to lack of time, which will be completed when he gets another chance.

BJP candidate from Titabar, Dhiraj Gowala also filed his nomination in the District Deputy Commissioner’s office. He said that he is getting huge support from the public and he is fully committed to the development of the area. He expressed confidence that the public will make him victorious with a huge vote in the upcoming elections.

BJP candidate from Mariani, Rupjyoti Kurmi, said after nomination that success in politics is not achieved only by faith in God, but by continuous hard work at the grassroots level. He said that his strong connect with the public is his real strength. Kurmi said that despite bad weather, more than 10,000 supporters voluntarily accompanied him, which is a sign of public confidence.

He said that people still have faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While commenting on Raijor Dal’s candidate Dr. Gyanashree Bora, he said that in a democracy, the final decision is taken by the public, but the grassroots support is clearly visible on the day of nomination itself.

While AGP candidate from Teok, Vikas Saikia also filed his nomination and assured of development of the area, expansion of infrastructure facilities and solution to the problems of the people. The electoral contest between the ruling coalition and the activism of opposition parties in Jorhat and surrounding assembly constituencies is likely to intensify in the coming days.
