Census of the year 2027 is going to start in Uttar Pradesh. This time it will be the first time that the census will be conducted digitally, in which all the work including data collection, their entry, verification and monitoring will be done on the digital platform. People will also be given the option of self-counting, that is, voters will be able to participate in the census by submitting their own data.
Census will be conducted in two phases in Uttar Pradesh. In the first phase, house listing and house counting will be done, while in the second phase, population census will be conducted. In the first phase, the process of self-counting will run from May 7 to May 21, after which officials will complete field work by going door-to-door from May 22 to June 20. Caste counting will be done in the second phase only.

In the first phase of census, house listing and counting of houses will be done. For this, 33 questions will be asked to the people, information about which will have to be given to the officials who have come for the enumeration.

More than six lakh employees will be deployed for census in Uttar Pradesh. These employees will go door-to-door and list the houses of the people and collect all the data. The work of collecting and verifying this data will be done through digital platforms. For this, a nodal office will also be established at the state level.
