Maharashtra government’s big decision amid LPG crisis, no need for NOC for gas pipeline

In view of the constraints in the supply of LPG due to global political activities, the Maharashtra government has taken a big decision. Devendra Fadnavis government has ordered to complete the expansion of City Gas Distribution (CGD) network on war footing.

As per the Cabinet decision, all pending permissions for the pipeline will now be deemed approved and new applications will be approved within 24 hours. To speed up the work, road repair fees have been waived and companies have been allowed to work 24 hours.

NOC will not be required

Apart from this, there will be no need to take NOC from the fire department or traffic police now, as all the terms and conditions have been relaxed.

‘Will be considered essential service’

PNG will now be considered an ‘essential service’ like water and electricity. Giving priority to domestic use, 50 percent supply will be given to hotels, schools, hospitals, community kitchens and hostels at commercial rates.

To monitor this entire process, Rationing Controller and Civil Supplies Director have been appointed as nodal officers. This order will remain effective till June 30, 2026.
