Why did the price of gold and silver suddenly increase?
- Today, the effect of US President Donald Trump’s two-week ceasefire with Iran is visible on the price of gold and silver. This has brought back the confidence of investors.
- The tremendous fall in crude oil is also responsible for this surge. Due to the huge fall in crude oil prices by about 15-20 percent, risk appetite has increased in the global markets. Due to this, purchasing of gold and silver has increased at lower levels.
- Amidst the reduced oil prices, the expectation of reduction in inflation has also increased. This has strengthened the sentiment of investors.
- The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has decided to keep the repo rate stable at 5.25 percent. Due to this, the prices of precious metals have increased amid the boom in the market.
Gold and silver prices in big cities of the country
- Today the price of 24 carat gold per 10 grams in Delhi is Rs 1,53,540. Here the price of 22 carat gold per 10 grams is Rs 1,40,745. The price of silver in Delhi is Rs 2,44,100 per kg.
- The price of 24 and 22 carat gold in Mumbai is Rs 1,53,810 and Rs 1,40,993 per 10 grams respectively. The price of silver here is Rs 2,44,520 per kg.
- Today the price of 24 carat gold per 10 grams in Chennai is Rs 1,54,260. Here the price of 22 carat gold per 10 grams is Rs 1,40,400. The price of silver in Chennai is Rs 2,45,230 per kg.
- Today in Kolkata, the price of 10 grams of 24 carat gold is Rs 1,49,950 and the price of 22 carat gold is Rs 1,37,350. The price of silver here is Rs 2,49,900 per kilogram.
