This study was published in Cancer Research Communications. It was found that people who never marry have a higher risk of getting cancer. Among men who were never married, the risk of cancer was 68 percent higher, and among women the risk was 83 percent higher. The study also showed that as age increases, the health benefits associated with marriage also increase.

Married people get emotional and social support. They often go to the doctor on time, due to which diseases are detected early. Married people generally adopt a healthy lifestyle, such as reducing smoking or alcohol consumption, and reducing risky behaviors also reduces the risk of many types of cancer such as lung cancer or cervical cancer.
