A sensational case of black marketing of tickets for the Royal Challengers Bangalore match during IPL 2026 came to light, in which it was reported that the tickets were being sold in black at a price of Rs 15 to 19 thousand. This black marketing was being done from a canteen located at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. So let us know what the whole matter is.

The police arrested a person named Chandrashekhar, who worked in the Sri Lakshmi canteen inside the stadium, and seized about 100 match tickets. According to the police, accused Chandrashekhar was selling the tickets of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants match at a price of Rs 15 to 19 thousand, which is much higher than the actual price.

What did the accused say?

During interrogation, the accused allegedly told that these tickets were supplied to him by Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) member Ganesh Parikshit and asked him to sell them at a higher price for profit.

Ganesh Parikshit, who allegedly supplied the tickets, is currently absconding. Police is searching for him. The Central Crime Branch has registered an FIR against the managing directors of some private companies for their alleged involvement in illegal sale of tickets.

Controversy over IPL tickets in Karnataka

It is noteworthy that controversy regarding IPL tickets is already being seen in Karnataka. State Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had announced to give three tickets each to all the MLAs for the matches to be held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Many questions were raised on this decision. The opposition and many MLAs had said that this would make it more difficult for the general public to get tickets.

Great performance of RCB in the season

Great performance is being seen from RCB in the season. The team has played five matches, winning 4. Have faced defeat in only 1 match. The team has won four matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad, against Chennai Super Kings, against Mumbai Indians and against Lucknow Super Giants. The team suffered its only defeat against Rajasthan Royals.
