The General Administration Department of Bihar Government has made a major administrative reshuffle. In this reshuffle, there have been changes in the posts of many senior IAS officers. This transfer is considered very important at the administrative level.
The most significant change is that Robert L. Chongthu (IAS 1997 batch) has been removed from the post of Principal Secretary to the Governor and made Principal Secretary, Minority Welfare Department.
Gopal Meena (IAS 2007 batch) has been transferred from the Revenue and Land Reforms Department and posted as Secretary to the Governor. Besides, he has also been given the additional charge of Investigation Commissioner (GAD).
Mo. Sohail (IAS 2007 batch) has been removed from the Minority Welfare Department and made the Secretary of the General Administration Department. He will also have the additional charge of Investigation Commissioner, GAD.

Shailendra Kumar now DM of Lakhisarai
Shailendra Kumar (IAS 2013 batch) has been transferred from the Agriculture Department and appointed as District Magistrate (DM) and District Magistrate of Lakhisarai.
This change is considered to be implemented with immediate effect. According to the notification of Bihar Government, all the officers will work on their new posts till further orders.
According to administrative sources, this change has been made with the aim of making the Governor’s Secretariat, Minority Welfare, General Administration and district level administration more efficient. New responsibilities have been assigned especially in the Minority Welfare Department and General Administration Department. The appointment of Shailendra Kumar in Lakhisarai district is being considered in the direction of strengthening the local administration.
