West Bengal Assembly Elections: The second phase of voting for the assembly elections in West Bengal is to be held on Wednesday (April 29, 2026). According to the rules, two days before the voting, speeches, public meetings, rallies and road shows given by political parties in the state have been stopped. While the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Bengal is targeting PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah along with the BJP government at the Centre, all the big leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have carried out a vigorous campaign in West Bengal.
BJP has put in all its strength to ensure its victory in this election. Different colors were seen in the campaign by the party leaders, sometimes they campaigned by eating Jhalmudi, and sometimes they campaigned by boat. A huge effort was made to convey the message to Hindu voters through darshan in temples. In such a situation, how successful this hard work and efforts of BJP is in Bengal will be known only after the election results are revealed on May 4, 2026.

This time the Bengal elections were not just about speeches but also about taste. In Jhargram, Prime Minister Modi suddenly stopped at a shop, ate Jhalmuri and also paid the money himself. The message was clear that in politics masala is necessary and sometimes puffed rice too. He said that the taste of Jhalmuri of Bengal is as unique as the soil of Bengal. There was development in Modi’s speeches and also strong criticism on the opposition.
The Prime Minister’s aggressive campaigning in West Bengal and Home Minister Amit Shah’s strategy filled the minds of BJP workers with enthusiasm. The strategy of all-out attack by the BJP top leadership has made the West Bengal elections interesting. In such a situation, now we will have to wait for the second phase of elections to be held on April 29, 2026 and the results to be released on May 4.
