Domestic cylinder prices had increased by Rs 60 in the month of March. Earlier in April last year, the rate was increased by Rs 50. At the same time, the prices of commercial cylinders also increased from Rs 114.50 to Rs 115 in the month of March. Then in April also the prices were increased by Rs 195.50.

Oil marketing companies usually change LPG prices at the beginning of every month. In such a situation, considering the global market and crude oil prices, this time May 1 will be the next important date for any increase or decrease.

According to media reports, on May 1, oil marketing companies may make changes to the existing 25-day ‘lock-in period’ for booking LPG cylinders.

Emphasis on OTP-based delivery system

Apart from this, now OTP-based delivery system is also expected to be implemented. Officials said that the purpose of this system is to prevent misuse of subsidized cylinders and sending them to the wrong place.

Under this system, at the time of delivery of the cylinder, you will have to give the OTP received on your registered mobile number to the delivery boy. Without this 4-digit OTP, your delivery will not be considered successful. Its purpose is to identify the real customer whether the person who has booked has received the cylinder or not.
