The film ‘Raja Shivaji’ directed by Ritesh Deshmukh is one of the much awaited films of the year 2026. Starring Riteish, Genelia Deshmukh, Sanjay Dutt, Abhishek Bachchan, Bhagyashree and Fardeen Khan, it is based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Interestingly, Salman Khan will also be seen in a special cameo in the film. In a recent conversation, Ritesh revealed that he had not initially approached Salman for a cameo. He told how the superstar finally got associated with the film?
How did Salman Khan enter ‘Raja Shivaji’?
According to NDTV report, Riteish Deshmukh revealed that he had not contacted Salman Khan for the film. He told that he and Salman Khan were together on New Year. During this, the superstar asked him about the shooting. Ritesh said, “He asked when I was starting the shooting of the film. I said, ‘It is starting this month.’ He said, ‘What role am I playing?’
When Riteish told that he had not thought of Salman for the film, the superstar replied, “No, no, no… the film cannot be made without me, I have to be in it. That feeling of belonging and belonging… that feeling… I felt like I had not thought about it properly.”

Salman also did cameo in Ritesh’s ‘Lai Bhari’ and ‘Ved’
During the same conversation, Ritesh recalled that Salman Khan had also done special cameos in ‘Ved’ and ‘Lai Bhari’. He further said, “When I did Lai Bhari, Salman Khan was in it. At that time he told me, ‘I want to do a scene.’ When I was working on Veda, I called him and said, ‘Brother, I want to meet you.’ He said, ‘Okay!’ I asked, ‘When?’ He said, ‘For which role?’ Want to meet – okay. He simply asked, ‘How many days is the shooting for?’ I said, ‘Two days,’ and he just said, ‘Okay’.”
When will ‘Raja Shivaji’ be released?
Recently a wonderful trailer of ‘Raja Shivaji’ was released. Although the trailer has received mixed response, a lot of craze is being seen among the fans for the film. People are excited to see this historical saga on the big screen. Ritesh and Genelia’s son Rahil has also made his acting debut with this film. Let us tell you that ‘Raja Shivaji’ is being released in theaters on May 1.
