According to police, based on intelligence, a joint team of police, Army’s 44 Rashtriya Rifles and CRPF’s 183rd battalion conducted a cordon and search operation in Kasbayar locality near Nath Road in Rajpora area of ​​Pulwama. During this operation, a suspect named Mohammad Umar Malik, who is a resident of Kachipora, was detained.

Case registered under UAPA sections and investigation underway

Officials said that a pistol, a magazine, live cartridges and two hand grenades were recovered from him. According to officials, a case has been registered at Rajpora police station under FIR number 75/2026 under relevant sections of the Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and further investigation is underway.

Secret terrorist hideouts busted in Kishtwar

Earlier, on Friday (01 May) in Kishtwar of Jammu and Kashmir, security forces achieved a major success by busting a secret terrorist hideout. According to officials, this action was taken during the search operation in Chatru area of ​​Kishtwar. Security forces revealed this secret hideout of terrorists hidden in Bajmandu forest of Sigdi Bhata area. It is being told that this hideout belonged to a terrorist commander, who has already been killed in an encounter with security forces. Security forces have recovered a large quantity of grenade launchers, pistols and cartridges along with other materials from here.
