South African spinner Simon Harmer made a big claim and said that the control button of the International Cricket Council (ICC) is with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Simply put, ICC does all the work on the instructions of BCCI. Along with this, Harmer told how this story can be changed. Let us tell you that last year Africa had won the title of World Test Championship by defeating Australia in the final.
Simon believes that India’s commercial and administrative strength will enable them to decide the direction of the game. Harmer also told what can be done about this as a player.
ICC follows the instructions of BCCI
Speaking to The Guardian, Signum Harmer said, “They have power because of commercial power. ICC is controlled by BCCI. But what can you do? As a player, you can only control those things which are controllable. The only thing that can change the story is winning the trophy.”
Played test against India last year
Let us tell you that Simon Harmer was a part of South Africa in the 2-match Test series played on India tour last year. Africa got its name written on the series by winning both the matches. Harmer had made an important contribution in helping Africa win by taking 17 wickets in the series.
Signe Harmer’s international career
It is noteworthy that Simon plays only Test cricket for Africa. So far, Simon has played 14 Tests in his international career. While bowling in 24 innings of these matches, he has taken 69 wickets at an average of 21.79, in which the best figure of the match was 9/101. During this period, he has won ‘5 wicket haul’ twice.
