Violence has continued in West Bengal since the results of the assembly elections. On Wednesday (May 6), Chandranath Rath, personal assistant (PA) of BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari, was shot dead. During this time, another person present with him got injured due to bullet injury and has been admitted to the nursing home. The injured person is being treated at Vivacity Nursing Home located at Madhyamgram Crossing. Trinamool Congress (TMC) has demanded a CBI inquiry into this incident.
What did Sayoni Ghosh say?
TMC MP Sayoni Ghosh strongly condemned the incident by posting on Instagram on Thursday. He wrote, “The incident with Chandranath Rath is extremely worrying. Regardless of political and ideological differences, regardless of who is in power, it is the responsibility of all of us to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of every person living in this state.”
He further said that no one’s life should be lost like this. There is an appeal to the police administration that strict action should be taken against every criminal involved in the violence that has taken place in the last few days and strict measures should be taken to stop it.

Trinamool Congress condemned the murder
Apart from this, a post was also made on X by Trinamool Congress demanding strict action against the accused. The post on X said that we strongly condemn the brutal murder of Chandranath Rath that took place tonight in Madhyagram.
The post made by TMC said that it strongly condemns the killing of three TMC workers in the violence allegedly carried out by BJP-backed miscreants in the last three days, while the Model Code of Conduct is in force in the state.

TMC demanded CBI investigation
The post further said that we demand maximum possible action in this case, including a court-monitored CBI investigation, so that the culprits can be identified and brought to justice without any delay. There is no place for violence and political murders in a democracy and the culprits should be punished as soon as possible.
