A boat carrying 9 people capsized in the Yamuna river on Wednesday night in Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, in which three people were saved, while 6 are still missing. As soon as the information was received, police and administration officials also reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. DM Abhishek Goyal said that along with NDRF, SDRF teams, local police administration is also present on the spot. An operation will be carried out throughout the night to search for the remaining people.
The incident took place near Ghatampur, in which people were returning home by boat. Then suddenly the boat started sinking, the sailor told that three people who knew how to swim were saved, the rest are still missing. There is an uproar after the incident.

CM Yogi took cognizance of the incident
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident of boat capsizing in Kurara area of Hamirpur. As soon as he received information about the matter, he directed senior police-administration officials to immediately reach the spot and ensure relief and rescue operations on a war footing. The Chief Minister said that the people missing in this unfortunate incident should be searched as soon as possible. Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in this. Senior officers of the district should themselves monitor the rescue operations and ensure all kinds of relief to the victims. Along with this, CM Yogi has also directed the district administration to investigate the causes of the accident and make concrete arrangements to prevent such accidents from happening in future.
Everyone had gone across the river to eat watermelon
According to the villagers, the wedding of Shripal’s daughter was held on Tuesday in Majra Qutubpur of Bhauli village of Kurara police station area. After farewell on Wednesday, many relatives went across Yamuna by boat to eat watermelon. Family members told that on the way back the young man driving the boat started talking on the phone. Due to which the foundation lost its balance and overturned and people started drowning. Local villagers somehow saved three people. After this the police was informed.

On the boat, Rani’s daughter Bachchan, Nishad, Akanksha, Brajrani, Lavyansh, Gorelal, Aditya, Vishnu, Rinku, Parul, three of them have been saved. Teams of divers have been deployed to search for the rest. On the other hand, DIG Ren has also reached the spot in the night itself. According to him, SDRF-NDRF teams are present to find the missing people. Efforts are being made to find all the missing people as soon as possible. Along with this, investigation into the accident has also been started.
