In the history of IPL, the team scoring the most runs in the first over is Rajasthan Royals, who scored 26 runs in the first 6 balls against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2023. In that over alone, Yashasvi Jaiswal had hit 2 sixes and three fours. Delhi Capitals is at second place in this list, which had scored 24 runs against Kolkata Knight Riders in the year 2021.
In the same season, Finn Allen of Kolkata Knight Riders wreaked such havoc that the Kolkata team scored 24 runs in the very first over. Punjab Kings is also included in this list, who had scored 22 runs in the first over of the innings against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2026. Rajasthan Royals have also scored 22 runs in the same over.
