In fact, Dravid will be called the owner of the Dublin franchise in the European T20 Premier League which will start soon.
Last Monday, the European T20 Premier League (ETPL) officially confirmed that Rahul Dravid is now the owner of the Dublin Guardians franchise. Let us tell you that a total of 6 teams will participate in this league. Abhishek Bachchan is one of the co-founders of ETPL. Abhishek said that he wanted to add a reliable and visionary person like Rahul Dravid to this league.
According to news agency PTI, on becoming the owner of the franchise, Rahul Dravid said that this will be his first experience as an owner. Dravid said that he will not be involved in things related to the game of cricket nor will he be seen with the dugout players and staff. Dravid also made it clear that he probably would not interfere in the players’ affairs even during the practice session.
Ravichandran Ashwin will be the captain
Another good news for Dublin Guardians is that on one hand Rahul Dravid is the owner of the team. Ravichandran Ashwin will be captaining the team and he will also be the mentor of this team. Dravid said that Ashwin will have free rein as to what kind of team he wants to prepare.

When will ETPL start?
The European T20 Premier League will launch in August 2026. The Royal Dutch Cricket Association will jointly organize the ETPL with the cricket boards of Ireland and Scotland. The league will start on 26th August and the final will be played on 20th September.
