RCB player set an example of honesty, returned the gold chain that had fallen on the field; Scene captured in live match

Generally, cricket matches are remembered for big scores, fours, sixes and centuries. But in IPL 2026, the match of Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders has come into discussion because of the gold key chain. Batting first, Kolkata scored 192 runs. When Bengaluru’s first wicket fell, RCB player Devdutt Padikkal won the hearts of the fans by setting an example of honesty.

Actually, this matter is related to Royal Challengers Bangalore player Jacob Bethel. Virat Kohli and Jacob Batchelor started the innings for RCB, which came to chase the target of 193 runs.

RCB player showed honesty

In the fourth over of Bengaluru’s innings, Jacob Bethel was out after scoring 15 runs in 12 balls. Karthik Tyagi’s short pitch ball first hit Baithel’s hand and then his helmet. When the ball hit his helmet, the gold chain fell off Jacob Bethel’s neck.

Batchelor did not notice that his gold chain had fallen on the pitch and walked out of the field after being out. When RCB’s next batsman, Devdutt Padikkal came to bat, he picked up the chain from the pitch and gave it to the match officials.

Jacob Bethel is struggling with bad form

After the injury of Phil Salt, Jacob Bethel has got a chance as an opener in the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. So far, he has been able to score only 85 runs in his 6 innings in IPL 2026. So far his highest score in the season has been only 27 runs.
