In a tragic accident in Naini Bazaar area of Prayagraj, a mother sacrificed her life to save her children. This incident happened on the night of 12th May, when suddenly a massive fire broke out in the house of a crockery businessman. According to the police, a family of three brothers lives in Champion Gali of Naini Bazaar.
Police said that there was a shop and warehouse on the ground floor of the house, while women and children were present on the upper floor. At around 9 pm, due to a short circuit, a fire broke out in the warehouse below, which engulfed the entire house in no time. The fire started spreading rapidly and the plume of smoke reached high. There was no way out from below, everyone reached the roof to save their lives. Due to the narrow street, it took time for the fire brigade to reach.

Woman saved children’s lives by showing courage
Meanwhile, Sanjeev Kesarwani’s wife Archana did not lose courage. The roof of the neighbor in the opposite street was visible. Archana first wrapped her one-year-old child in a sheet and threw it towards the neighbour’s terrace, about 12 feet away. The people present there somehow caught the child safely.
Mother badly burnt while saving her children
After this, with the help of the ladder, Archana also took her 13-year-old and 10-year-old daughters safely to the neighbour’s terrace. In the end he threw out his nephew also. While protecting the children, Archana herself got badly burnt after coming in contact with the fire and smoke. Archana was taken to the hospital in critical condition, where she died during treatment.
Half a dozen fire brigade vehicles brought the fire under control
His 13 year old daughter also got burnt in this accident, who has been admitted to the ICU. Meanwhile, Archana’s sister-in-law Sarita suffered a fracture in her leg while jumping from the roof. The magnitude of the fire can be gauged from the fact that 12 fire brigade vehicles had to be deployed to control it and the fire could be completely extinguished only at around 4 o’clock in the night.
This incident has shocked the entire area. People are saluting the bravery of mother Archana who sacrificed her life to save her children.
