US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is visiting India amid Iran-US tension, has given a big hint by saying that ‘the world may get good news in the next few hours.’ It is believed that this possible deal could be related to 60-day ceasefire extension and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
Marco Rubio said – ‘Good news’ may come soon
Speaking to the media in Delhi, Marco Rubio said, ‘I think the world may get some good news in the next few hours.’ Although he did not share complete details of the possible agreement, his statement indicated that a major diplomatic solution could be agreed upon between the US and Iran.
Trump also indicated 60 days ceasefire
A few hours before this, US President Donald Trump had claimed that Washington is very close to extending the ceasefire for 60 days. Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social that a broad agreement has been reached between America, Iran and many other countries, which is yet to be finalized.
Focus on opening Hormuz Strait
Rubio said the proposed agreement includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which was largely closed by Iran after the conflict began. Under this deal, Iran may also be allowed to sell its oil. Iran demands that America end its naval blockade, release foreign assets and lift restrictions on oil exports.

‘Iran can never possess nuclear weapons’
Marco Rubio bluntly said that America will not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances. He said that this issue is related to America’s national security and there will be no compromise on it.
Jaishankar said- India will give priority to its energy needs
Foreign Minister S Jaishankar also clarified India’s stand on this issue. He said that the Trump administration works on ‘America First’ policy, while India gives priority to ‘India First’ policy. Jaishankar said that India has many cheap and diverse energy sources and the country will continue to buy energy from multiple sources as per its needs.
