SSC GD Constable 2026 Exam Date Preponed: A big update has come out for the candidates preparing for SSC GD Constable Recruitment Exam 2026. Staff Selection Commission has made a major change in the date of GD Constable exam. The Commission has issued an official notice saying that earlier this examination was to be held on 28 May 2026, but now the examination will be conducted a day earlier i.e. on 27 May 2026.
After this change, lakhs of candidates may have to make changes in their preparation and travel plans. In such a situation, candidates have been advised to continue their preparation keeping in mind the new exam dates and keep a constant eye on the official website of SSC.
Why was the exam date changed?
According to the notice issued by SSC, the exam date has been changed due to the holiday of Eid-ul-Zuha (Bakrid). Actually, the date of leave was amended by the Department of Personnel and Training. For this reason SSC also had to change the schedule of its examination. The Commission has clearly stated that the previously announced exam date was clashing with a government holiday, hence keeping in mind the convenience of the candidates and administrative arrangements, the decision was taken to conduct the exam a day earlier.
Now on which day will SSC GD 2026 exam be held?
According to the schedule released by SSC, earlier the exam date was 28 May 2026, but now the new exam date is 27 May 2026. Now the candidates will have to appear in the examination as per this new date.
When will the admit cards be released?
SSC has also informed that the admit card for GD Constable Exam 2026 will be released about 2 to 3 days before the exam. Candidates will be able to download the admit card by visiting the official website with the help of their login credentials. Exam centre, exam time, reporting time and necessary instructions will be given in the admit card. Therefore, candidates are advised to read all the information given in the admit card carefully after it is released.

For which posts the examination is being held?
This examination is being conducted for recruitment to Rifleman (GD) posts in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF and Assam Rifles. Every year lakhs of youth appear in this recruitment examination and dream of getting a job in the security services of the country.
