In the interview given at Screen Awards, Saba Azad talked openly about the status of women in the society and the working environment. He said, ‘Women can work even in big houses, but they come home and prepare food and feed everyone. We don’t ask our boys to stay at home, but we ask our girls not to go out after 8 pm. Female feticide still occurs. Domestic violence is also widespread in the world and the dominance of men is also very high. I think we have gone backwards.

What did Saba Azad say on the demand of 8 hour shift?
On Deepika Padukone’s demand for 8-hour shift, Saba Azad said, ‘Women now get a lot of work opportunities in our industry. The situation has improved a lot, but is there still a lot of difference in salary? No it is not like that. Do we respect women who have recently given birth to a child and are demanding to work only for 8 hours? No, we don’t do that. We are still struggling in this matter. We are still not able to provide this facility to women without showing their ‘status’.

Now content is more important than stardom – Saba Azad
Saba Azad further said, ‘We are doing better than before. Now there is a lot of content available for women and after marriage, there is no difference in work as before. The situation regarding roles for married or older women has also improved a lot. Major credit for this can be given to OTT. Now the importance of content is increasing more than stardom.
