Amid rising tensions between the US and Iran, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has openly threatened the US that it will give a befitting reply if it is attacked, and also claimed that US President Donald Trump is ‘begging’ for a deal with Iran due to the impact of rising energy prices on Western economies.
What is the claim of IRGC Deputy Commander?
According to Iran’s state media, IRGC Deputy Commander Mohammad Akbarzadeh said on Tuesday (May 26) that America and Europe are being affected by rising oil and gas prices. Claimed that these countries are still not completely safe in dealing with the fuel crisis and changes in the market. He said that Iran will benefit from this.
‘Ready to retaliate’
He said, ‘Iran’s missile capability and the continuous closure of the Strait of Hormuz shows the power of Tehran. Iranian forces are fully prepared to respond to any attack in the future. Akbarzadeh further said that the US and Israel have kept war as a ‘last option’ and said that any military action against Iran would result in failure and humiliation for Washington.

IRGC warns US
IRGC has warned America that if the attack on it continues, it will take retaliatory action. This statement came when the US military attacked Iranian missile launch sites and armed boats near the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC also claimed that in the last 24 hours, 25 ships passed safely through the Strait of Hormuz under its surveillance and protection. These included oil tankers, container ships and other merchant ships.
In a statement issued by the IRGC’s news agency SEPA News, it was said that its navy is maintaining ‘smart and tight control’ on the Strait of Hormuz. It was also warned that any ‘aggressive action’ would be given a ‘strong and forceful response’. Earlier on Monday, the US Army had attacked missile launch sites and boats trying to lay mines in southern Iran.
‘Have gone completely crazy’, why did Trump get angry at America’s Wall Street Journal, New York Times and CNN?
