Sunrisers Hyderabad’s IPL 2026 journey has ended, the team lost to Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator match. This year there were many young players in the team, one of whom was Saqib Hussain. Shakib played his debut match against Rajasthan Royals on 13 April and took 4 wickets in the very first match. At that time, when the struggles in his life started being discussed, an old video of him came out in which he was telling that his mother had sold her jewelery to get him spike shoes. Now he has revealed that this season Ishan Kishan gifted him 6 pairs of spike shoes.
In a conversation with ESPNcricinfo, Saqib Hussain told that Ishan Kishan got him 6 pairs of spike shoes. Let us tell you that Saqib Hussain was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024, but he could not debut. Then KKR franchise took an interview with him, in which it was revealed how Shakib played cricket in poverty. He wanted spike shoes, which were worth Rs 10-12 thousand. He used to cry for this, his mother sold her jewelery and got him shoes.
Ishaan Kishan got the shoes
Saqib said, “I currently have 6 pairs of spike shoes. Ishan bhaiya got it for us. When he asked us what to wear, we said Adidas Adipower. So bhaiya got it for us.” Shakib played 11 matches for Sunrisers Hyderabad this year, he bowled well in the powerplay and impressed.

Saqib Hussain took a total of 15 wickets in 11 matches played in IPL 2026. He took 4 wickets for 24 runs in his debut match, that match was against Rajasthan Royals. Although Saqib could not take a single wicket in the eliminator, he conceded 52 runs in 4 overs.
