In the eliminator match of IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals (RR) performed brilliantly and defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 47 runs on Wednesday. Captain Riyan Parag looked elated with the team’s performance. He especially praised the performance of the bowlers.
Despite the win against SRH, captain Ryan admitted that the team needs to bat better in the final overs. He said, “Yes, it was a great match, although I believe in everything being perfect. I know that this match was not completely perfect for us. After a good start, we should have scored at least 260 runs in this match. In such a situation, we have to work on it. We have to focus on that after the explosive start given by Vaibhav, we also end the innings well.”
Ryan praised the performance of RR bowlers. He said, “I am very impressed with the performance of the bowlers. I think we maintained our composure. SRH scored a lot of runs in the first and second overs when Ishan and Travis Head hit some boundaries. After that the bowlers made a great comeback and overall the team’s performance was good.”
Captain Ryan told that he does not talk much to Vaibhav and gives him the freedom to play freely. “The thing is that we do not have any conversation at all. We leave him alone and let Vaibhav enjoy batting as per his wish. Vaibhav loves batting very much and that is why he is given a lot of practice in the nets, after which he comes to the field and does the same.”
Vaibhav played a brilliant inning of 97 runs in just 29 balls against SRH in the eliminator match. In this innings, Vaibhav hit 5 fours and 12 sixes. Vaibhav jointly became the batsman to score the fastest half-century in playoff matches. He equaled Suresh Raina’s record by scoring a half-century in just 16 balls. Rajasthan Royals will now face Gujarat Titans in the second qualifier on 29th May.
