Ranjit did not listen to Rekha
Ranjeet, who was the dreaded villain of the 70s and 80s, has worked with both Rekha and Amitabh Bachchan. He had observed their relationship closely. After leaving acting, Ranjit had decided to make the film ‘Carnama’ as a director with Dharmendra, Jaya Prada and Rekha. The casting of all three had been done. But, later Rekha had to be removed from this film. The reason behind this is quite interesting.

Rekha wanted to spend the evening with Amitabh
In an old interview given to Rediff, Ranjeet had said, ‘The entire first schedule of the film was fixed in the evening shift. One day Rekha called me and requested if I could shift the shooting to the morning, because she wanted to spend the evening with Amitabh Bachchan. I politely refused, so he left the film and also returned the signing amount.

After Rekha, Dharmendra also left the film
Ranjit had suffered two major shocks one after the other. After Rekha, Dharmendra also distanced himself from this film. Because after Rekha left the film, its shooting was delayed and then Dharmendra Got busy with other projects. Ranjeet had said, ‘Finally I made this film with Farah, Kimi Katkar and Vinod Khanna. It was released in 1990 and its business was average. Let us tell you that later Ranjit also made a film named ‘Gajab Tamasha’ (1992).
