IPL 2026 Team of the Tournament, Virat Kohli at No. 3, Shubman Gill no place; Former players selected these players

Who will be the champion of the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League will be decided today. There will be a title clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans. Earlier, former Indian cricketer Murali Karthik selected the Team of the Tournament of IPL 2026. He included Vaibhav Suryavanshi as an impact player. Virat Kohli was kept at number three, now Joffra Archer was also included along with purple cap holder Kagiso Rabada. However, their team does not have Shubman Gill, who scored a century in the second qualifier.

While selecting the IPL 2026 Team of the Tournament on Cricbuzz, he included Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Sai Sudarshan as openers, although he kept Vaibhav as an impact player. Vaibhav is currently the Orange Cap holder, having scored 776 runs in 16 innings. Sudarshan has scored 710 runs in 16 innings.

Virat Kohli at number three

Karthik kept Virat Kohli at number three in his team, who has so far scored 600 runs in 15 innings. A good innings will be expected from Kohli in the final today also. Karthik placed Ishan Kishan at fourth position and RCB captain Rajat Patidar at fifth position. He placed Heinrich Klaasen and Krunal Pandya at sixth and seventh positions respectively.

These 3 fast bowlers were included

Along with Reddy and Krunal, Karthik kept Sunil Narine as the third all-rounder. He chose Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Joffra Archer and Kagiso Rabada as the three fast bowlers. Rabada is currently the purple cap holder with 28 wickets. In terms of most wickets, Bhuvi is at second place (26) and Archer (25) is at third place.
