Myanmar Explosion: There is news of 50 people killed in an explosion in an ammunition store in Namkham (Shan Province), Myanmar. More than 60 people have been injured. Shan Province is a civil war affected area. This incident came to light at a time when Myanmar President (former military dictator) U Min Aung Hlaing is on a visit to India (30 May-3 June). Blast took place three kilometers from China’s border
The area where this blast took place is about 3 km south of the Chinese border. It is occupied by Myanmar’s rebel group Ta Aung National Liberation Army. It is an ethnic armed group. Guerrilla continues fighting against the government of Myanmar.
A rescue team member present at the blast site says that 46 bodies were recovered on Sunday evening. Six children were also included in these. He was sent for last rites.
Apart from this, he had informed that 74 people were taken to the township hospital. At present the rescue operation is going on. More than 100 houses in the area have been damaged.

Considerable damage occurred in residential areas
According to Myanmar news agency Shwefimya, the death toll is 50 to 55. Photos and videos related to this have been shared. Also many residential houses have been damaged. Local officials are running the rescue operation smoothly on the spot.
At the same time, in this whole matter, Ta Ang National Liberation Army said in its statement that the Economic Department had stored gelignite for use in mining and stone quarries. It is used for mining and breaking rocks. If this substance is kept for a long time then it can become explosive.
