Farhan Akhtar is counted among the most talented actors of Bollywood. On the basis of acting, direction, writing and singing, he has created his own identity in the industry. Recently, during an interview, Farhan narrated an interesting anecdote related to musician AR Rahman and told that he had once refused to sing a song for him.
Did rejecting AR Rahman’s offer cost Farhan Akhtar?
Farhan Akhtar told in AAP ki Adalat that once he had refused to sing a song for AR Rahman. He said in the conversation, ‘I don’t remember the name of the film, but the song was ‘Kuch Falak Jaisa’. The mood of that song and its composition were completely different from my singing. Till that time I had only sung songs like ‘Rock On’ and I felt that this song required a different kind of singer.

Farhan further said, ‘I thought I was good at the kind of singing I do, but this song was very different. So I myself called AR Rahman and apologized to him and said that I will not be able to sing this song.
‘I never received a call from him again’
He told, ‘It very rarely happens that AR Rahman himself calls someone and says, brother, you are not a well-known singer, but still do this song. In such a situation, I felt very bad refusing them. I told him that please forgive me, but I will not be able to sing this song. After this he never called me for any other song.
Farhan Akhtar’s career
Farhan Akhtar is one of the few Bollywood actors who have achieved success in every industry be it acting, direction, production, writing and singing. He started his career as a director in the year 2001 with ‘Dil Chahta Hai’, after which he started being counted among the most successful filmmakers of the industry. After this, Farhan also created his own identity in the world of acting through films like ‘Lakshya’, ‘Don’, ‘Rock On!!’, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ and ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’.
