US President Donald Trump became so enraged during an interview that he even called the journalist ‘dishonest’ and ‘fool’ and left the interview midway. Trump had appeared on NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ program on Sunday (June 7). When the anchor repeatedly asked him for evidence on his claims of election rigging in California, his anger reached sky high and he walked away from the nationally telecasted interview.
Trump’s allegation of rigging in California elections
It started when, referring to the slow voting counting in California, Trump said, ‘It’s been four days and they are still not even close to declaring the results.’ In response to NBC anchor Kristen Welker saying that taking so much time in counting is the normal way of counting ballots in California, Trump said, ‘Do you know why they are doing this? Because they are rigging the elections.
Welker asked Trump directly whether he had any evidence to prove his claims. Trump replied- ‘I just want to see’ and also said that he listens to people. The anchor asked if there was any evidence of rigging in the elections to be held in the US but Trump did not present any evidence. On the contrary, he said, he questioned whether it is justified to continue counting of votes even after five days of the elections.

Trump angry at news anchor
Trump asked, ‘Do you think it is right that elections take place and the results are not released even after five days?’ While news anchor Welker said the process is slow, he said California officials are working to speed it up. The President again said that California election officials, Welker and his media colleagues are ‘dishonest’.
Trump commented, ‘They are dishonest, just like you are dishonest, your press is dishonest and ‘Meet the Press’ is dishonest.’ Trump also said that America is like a ‘third class country’ in terms of conducting elections. Trying to move the conversation forward, Welker replied, ‘To be honest, I’m not dishonest.’ The President replied, ‘Either you are dishonest or you are stupid.’ ‘With this nonsense you are falling straight into their trap. You know these elections are rigged. Your network also knows that they are rigged.
