More than 600 seats increased in IIT
This year the total seats in IIT institutes have been increased. While last year there were around 18,160 seats, now this number has increased to 18,826. This means that this time more than 600 new seats have been made available for students.
This increase in seats has been done so that more and more deserving students get the opportunity to study in the top engineering institutes of the country. Every year lakhs of students appear for JEE Advanced exam, but due to limited seats many students feel disappointed.
Highest increase in IIT Jodhpur and IIT Mandi
IIT Jodhpur has been at the forefront in terms of increasing seats. 140 new seats have been added here. After this, 120 seats have been increased in IIT Mandi. Apart from this, seats have also been increased in many other IIT institutes as per the need. Due to this, the chances of more students getting admission has increased.
18 new courses also started
The matter was not limited to just increasing the seats. This year 18 new courses have also been started in IIT. The objective of these courses is to prepare the students according to the future needs. IIT Kanpur has started a new course named Intelligent Systems, while IIT Mandi has included advanced subjects like Quantum Science and Engineering. New and modern courses like Biomedical Engineering and Data Science have been started in IIT Indore.
