Sri Lankan President Anura Kumar Dissanayake has heartily congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming the longest serving elected Prime Minister in the history of the country. The President said that this achievement is not only a record of remaining in office for a long time, but it is also a proof of the trust and confidence repeatedly expressed by the people of India on the leadership of Prime Minister Modi.

Getting continuous public support in democracy is a big achievement.
President Anura Kumar Dissanayake said in his message that a large, diverse and vibrant democracy like India is an example for the world. In such a country, winning elections continuously and gaining public support is an extraordinary achievement. This reflects the effective governance ability of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the positive changes he has brought in the lives of common people and his ability to maintain public trust even in difficult circumstances.
