This has caused a lot of damage to the plane. The name of this aircraft is A330-243. There has been an incident of lightning on its left engine. Here, taking precautions, the flight crew decided to divert the plane to Bandaranaike International Airport. The plane has landed safely here. According to the information received regarding the incident, the plane took off from Colombo at 1 o’clock in the night. After some time, this aircraft had to face conditions like bad weather and lightning. The left engine of the plane has been damaged due to lightning. Here there are burning marks on the engine cover. Also some parts have been uprooted.

There were so many passengers on board the plane, all are safe
There is no news of any injury in this entire incident. There were 207 passengers on board the plane. None of the 16 crew members were injured. The passengers were shifted to another Airbus A330. With this the plane has left for Sydney. At the same time, the aircraft that was the victim of the incident has been sent to the airline’s hangar for necessary structural checks and engine repairs.
