Union Minister Kishan Reddy wrote a letter regarding Rs 1600 crore coal scam, made this demand to CM Revanth Reddy

A political uproar has arisen in Telangana over allegations of coal stock scam in Singareni Collieries Company Limited. In this matter, Union Coal Minister and BJP MP from Secunderabad Kishan Reddy has written a letter to CM Revanth Reddy demanding investigation into the matter.

Expressing concern in a letter written on June 10, Kishan Reddy said that it has come to light that 40 lakh tonnes of coal worth Rs 1600 crore is missing from SCCL’s stock. The disappearance of coal and other related news is very serious. These should be investigated immediately.

He has said in his letter that I want to draw your attention to the news of disappearance of 40 lakh tonnes of coal worth Rs 1600 crore. This has caused huge loss to the company. The Union Minister has clearly said that if these allegations are true, then the financial condition and future of the company will be affected. Referring to the situation of SCCL, the Union Minister said that the company may become weak if the dues are not paid by the Telangana government.

Actually, there is a joint partnership between Telangana government and the Center in Singareni Collieries Company Limited. Its equity ratio is 51:49. The Union Minister has clearly said that investigation in this matter should be done immediately. With this, errors can be detected.

Trade union organizations demanded the Union Minister to intervene in the matter.

In an interview given to ANI, the Union Minister said that in his letter, clarity and accountability has been demanded from the Chief Minister of Telangana in this matter. Also said that political parties, trade unions and employees have raised the matter. Because of this, answers had to be sought from the state government. There have been many reports in the media regarding this matter continuously. Political parties, trade union organizations and employees have written letters demanding clarity. The role of the Center in overseeing its functioning has been zero.
