Former captain of Pakistan women’s cricket team Nida Dar has announced her return to professional cricket, who had decided to take an indefinite break last year. Citing mental health reasons, Nida had announced to take a break from sports in April 2025 to focus on her health.
Nida Dar posted on X on Thursday, “After taking time out to focus on myself and regain my strength, I am happy to announce that I am back. Once again I am available for the Pakistan Cricket Team.”
He further wrote, “I am ready to give my best, work hard and contribute whenever the team needs me. Thank you to everyone who supported me in this journey.”

Nida Dar last played for the Pakistan cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2024, after which the PCB dropped her from the central contract list. Nida was made the captain in place of Bismah Maroof after the 2023 T20 World Cup, although Fatima Sana was made the captain before the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Nida Dar’s international career
39-year-old Nida took 108 wickets and scored 1690 runs in 112 ODI matches for Pakistan cricket team. In T20 International, he took 144 wickets in 160 matches, scoring 2091 runs in this format.
Talking about the ongoing edition of T20 World Cup, Pakistan team has had a very bad start. After losing to India, Pakistan team lost to South Africa in the second match. The Pakistan team captained by Fatima Sana is currently at fifth position in the points table of Group A.
