Pakistan has once again used the international platform to run a propaganda campaign and cry foul over the Indus Water Treaty. Sitting in Europe on Thursday (June 18, 2026) in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, Pakistan begged the international community to hold talks with India on the Indus Water Treaty. He even frightened Europe in this matter and also threw dust in the eyes of the international community. Let us expose each fake claim made by Pakistan-
Last year, Pakistani Army spokesperson Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhary had repeated the dialogue of terrorist Hafiz Saeed – ‘If you stop the water, we will stop your breathing.’ When that did not work, Pakistan offered several times to negotiate with India on the Indus Water Treaty. When India rejected the offer of talks, now Pakistan has started sitting in Europe and begging for help from the international community, scaring them and misleading them.
Pakistan High Commission and European think tank Center for European Policy Studies (CEPS) had organized a conference named ‘Transboundary Water Resources: A Weaponized Global Common’ on the issue of Indus Treaty in Brussels, in which Pakistan’s Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Environment Minister Mussadiq Masood Malik, Faisal Hussain Naqvi, a lawyer representing Pakistan on the issue of Indus Water Treaty and Poison Against India. Ishaq Dar tried to trick Europe
The conference started with the recorded speech of Ishaq Dar, in which he said on India’s ongoing projects on Indus, Chenab and Ravi rivers and how Pakistan can die of thirst with their help. Dar said that after suspending the Indus Water Treaty, India is working on new projects like Sawalkot, Kirthai and Kwar. Working on expansion of projects like Baglihar and Salal is diverting the flow of Indus, Chenab and Ravi rivers which will give India dominance over water resources. Although Ishaq Dar gave a recorded speech of 8 minutes 16 seconds, there were more than 15 cuts in the entire speech.
Pakistan misled the world by sitting in Europe. Describing himself as an environment lover, Ishaq Dar said that his country is an environment lover, that is why Pakistan contributes only one percent of the world’s total greenhouse gas emissions. The Environment Minister of Pakistan took this forward and said that Pakistan emits only one percent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, whereas India ranks third in the world in terms of greenhouse gas emissions.
The truth of Ishaq Dar-Musaadiq Malik’s claims
Now, what Ishaq Dar and Musadiq Malik forgot to tell while misleading Europe is that Pakistan has to emit only one percent of greenhouse gas in the entire world because Pakistan is a very backward country of South Asia. 3 percent of the world’s population lives in Pakistan, but Pakistan’s share in the world GDP is only 0.4% or less.

The Government of Pakistan itself admitted in February 2026 that more than 17 percent of the areas in the country do not get electricity for more than 10 hours. In the largest province, Balochistan, there is power cut of more than 10 hours in more than 74 percent of the areas. 642 areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and 407 areas of Sindh remain without electricity for more than 10 hours every day. Pakistan’s economy is even smaller than Maharashtra, only 13 percent of which is in manufacturing. On an average, a person consumes only 543 units of electricity in a year, whereas an Indian spends twice as much electricity in a year.
The condition of Pakistan is worse than the poor countries of Africa
70 percent of the people of Pakistan ride 70 cc motorcycles, whereas in poor countries like Nigeria and Congo, 60-70 percent of the people ride 100 cc or above bikes. In such a situation, Pakistan’s one percent greenhouse emission is not its love for the environment but a sign of poverty. We have put this data before you because Pakistan’s Environment Minister Musadiq, who was jealous of India’s progress, made such false and absurd propaganda while sitting in Europe that even an educated minister would think 100 times before speaking. Making a bundle of lies to mislead Europe, Musaddiq Malik said that India is the world’s third largest emitter of greenhouse gases due to which the temperature is rising and floods are occurring, due to which 6 thousand people died and 20 thousand people were injured in the last 15 years in Pakistan.
Shahbaz’s ministers kept making false claims in Europe
Crying out his grief in front of the world, Musaddiq Masood Malik said in a confused manner that after India suspended the Indus Water Treaty last year during the floods, at one point of Chenab where 18000 cusecs of water was flowing, it became 1500 cusecs of water in 2 days without rain. Mussadiq kept saying again and again that I am trying not to give false data, then Mussadiq remembered that here he was talking about flood without rain, suddenly he reversed the data and said that at just one point the water had increased from 1500 cusecs to 18000 cusecs last year.
Europe’s report exposed Pakistan
Pakistani ministers, who are holding a conference on Indus Water Treaty in Europe with the intention of misleading the world, perhaps forgot to tell that the main culprit of the rising temperature in South Asia is their fellow country China, which is number 1 in carbon emissions in the world and alone emits 35% of the world’s carbon. Also, according to the study of European Foundation for South Asian Studies (EFSAS), Pakistan itself started 3 new coal power plants in its country in the name of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), cuts more than one lakh trees every year in Gilgit Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and every day trucks associated with CPEC alone emit 3 crore 65 lakh tonnes of carbon dioxide gas.
In such a situation, the figures are enough to expose the lies of the Pakistani government and its ministers. In the conference, the Pakistani minister also said that Pakistan’s agriculture is possible only with the water coming under the Indus Water Treaty, which is 40% of its GDP, and the way India is asking to stop the water is a declaration of war.

Shahbaz’s minister showed fear to Europe
In this first session which lasted for an hour, Pakistan made many false baseless claims, but the real story started in the second session, where Musadiq Malik started crying sadly and said that if the Indus Water Treaty cannot survive then no mutual treaty in Europe can survive. What will you do? We will go to the court, we went but the other country told us that we are a nuclear country, we challenge the jurisdiction of this court. This will then become an example and the entire legal structure of the world works on examples. In such a situation, scaring Europe, the Pakistani minister said that then this can happen to Europe too. Some powerful country in Europe will stand up and say that I too do not agree to the treaty on water. This will reach you also because many countries of Europe are dependent on each other for water.
Truth of Pakistan’s claims
Here the Pakistani ministers forgot that no European country, which is dependent on it for water, trains its citizens in terror and sends them to kill its citizens and soldiers. As Pakistan has been doing continuously with India since 1980 without any stop. All three terrorists who carried out the Pahalgam terrorist attack were Pakistani citizens. The 10 terrorists who carried out the 26/11 terrorist attack in Mumbai were Pakistani citizens. The terrorists who carried out the Uri and Pulwama terror attacks were Pakistani citizens and the entire business of terrorism is run by Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI and the Pakistani Army, of which the world has countless proofs.
Pakistan’s lawyer admitted the truth of terrorism
Faisal Hussain Naqvi, the lawyer representing Pakistan in the Indus Water Treaty case, at least accepted the fact that India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty because of sponsored terrorism against Pakistan, but if it wanted to spread propaganda, it linked water with human rights. After this comes the question of Pakistan begging for help. Musaddiq Malik begs Europe and the world that bilateral talks between India and Pakistan on this issue are impossible, but Europe and the United Nations should do something on the water issue, call everyone, talk so that the issue can be resolved.
On the Indus Water Treaty, which has been suspended for 14 months, the Pakistani Minister says that even after 3 wars and countless skirmishes, the treaty was not ended, but this time it was suddenly ended due to political reasons. Scaring Europe again, Musaddiq Malik said that we are not so worried about ourselves, but this will become an example and then the world will work like this.
