JNU Admission 2026: An important update has come out for the students waiting for admission in Post Graduate (PG) and Advanced Diploma of Proficiency (ADOP) courses in Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), one of the biggest universities of the country. The university has released the revised schedule of admission for the academic session 2026-27. According to the new schedule, the admission process will be completed in several phases and will start with the release of the merit list.
According to the information released by the university, after the release of the merit list, the selected candidates will have to do pre-enrolment registration and deposit the fees within the stipulated time. The entire admission process will continue till 10th August 2026, so students who have applied for PG or ADOP courses should keep an eye on all the important dates.
First merit list will be released on June 25
According to the revised schedule of JNU, the first merit list of PG and ADOP courses will be released on 25 June 2026. The candidates who will be selected in this list will have to complete the pre-enrolment registration process between June 25 and June 27, 2026 and pay the prescribed fees. The university has made it clear that this process is necessary to secure seats. If a candidate does not register and pay the fees within the stipulated time, further process can be applied to his seat.
When will the second merit list come?
After completion of the first phase process, the university will release the second merit list and list of supernumerary seats on July 3, 2026. Candidates selected in this list will have to do pre-enrolment registration and fee payment between July 3 to July 5, 2026. After this, physical verification of the selected students will be done on 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17 July 2026.
Will get another chance for vacant seats
The university has also kept a special opportunity for the remaining vacant seats. Under this, candidates will be able to register their wishes between July 23 and July 25, 2026. After this, the last merit list will be released on 31 July 2026. Candidates selected in the final list will have to do pre-enrolment registration and fee payment from 31 July to 2 August 2026. Whereas the physical verification of the last list candidates will be done on 6th and 7th August 2026.

Admission process will be completed by 10th August
According to the new program of JNU, the entire admission process for session 2026-27 will be completed by August 10, 2026, this will be the last date for admission and registration. The University has advised the candidates to keep checking the updates released on the official website from time to time.
How to check JNU PG and ADOP 1st merit list?
After the release of the merit list, candidates can see it online. For this, first visit the official website of JNU. jnu.ac.in will go on. After this, open the admission section and click on PG Admission 2026-27 or ADOP Admission 2026-27 portal. Here the link of First Merit List 2026 will appear. As soon as you click on that link, the PDF of the merit list will open on the screen. Candidates can find their name or application number in it and download the list and keep it safe.
