In today’s era, the craze of fitness is on the heads of people of all age groups, from youth to youth, but the news of death coming from inside the gym is now becoming a cause of fear. One such heart-wrenching news has come to light from Champawat district of Uttarakhand, where a 38-year-old brave SOG officer’s health suddenly deteriorated during a workout in the gym and he lost the battle of life in no time. The sudden death of this officer, famous for his bravery and tough service, has left the entire department, family and local people in deep shock. As soon as the news of this tragic incident broke on the internet, there was a stir and people were surprised as to how such a fit person suddenly died.
While working out, Girish Bhatt suddenly felt dizzy and fell on the ground.
Girish Bhatt, a promising officer posted in Champawat SOG unit, was exercising as usual on Friday in a local gym in Banbasa. According to eyewitnesses, during the workout he suddenly felt uneasiness and discomfort in his chest and before anyone could understand anything, he became unconscious and fell on the ground. As is also visible in the viral video.

The people present in the gym immediately came into action and he was hurriedly taken to a private hospital in Khatima, but unfortunately, the doctors declared him dead after examination. Although the exact cause of death will be officially confirmed only after the medical report comes, initially it is being considered as a sudden heart attack. Girish, originally from Pithoragarh, leaves behind his wife and two sons.
Last rites were performed with state honours, debate again on gym deaths
Girish Bhatt was known in the department as a very honest, efficient and brave soldier who carried out many major operations. On hearing the news of his untimely death, a large number of police forces and local leaders including Champawat SP Rekha Yadav reached his house to console him. His last rites were performed with full state honors at Sharda Ghat in Banbasa with tearful eyes. It is noteworthy that this is not an isolated incident, recently in Davangere, Karnataka, 26 year old national bodybuilder Sushil Kumar also died suddenly after a workout.

As soon as this news went viral, people’s grief and anger erupted on social media. Commenting on one user, he wrote, “Oh God! Nowadays gyms are becoming wells of death, a SOG officer who was so fit did not even survive, it is very sad.” Another user wrote, “38 years is not an age to die, the youth will now have to think a hundred times before taking supplements and doing excessively heavy workouts.
