India’s star spinner Shri Charani has become the world number-1 T20 bowler. Her amazing performance in the Women’s T20 World Cup has given her tremendous advantage in the rankings. Shri Charani has taken 10 wickets in 3 matches of the World Cup and is at the top in terms of taking most wickets in the tournament.
This achievement of 21-year-old Mr. Charani is incredible, because he had made his international cricket debut only about a year ago. In the last 13-14 months, she has emerged as one of the most effective bowlers of Team India. She has captured the first place by defeating England’s Linsey Smith. Smith, who has now slipped two places to third place.
Mr Charani’s rating points are 753, while Charlie Dean, who is in second place, has 733 points. Apart from Charani, only Deepti Sharma is present in the list of top-10 bowlers. Deepti has lost 3 places in the T20 bowling rankings, due to which she has come down to number-8. Let us tell you that apart from Shri Charani, no Indian has benefited in the T20 bowling rankings.
